Ensuring
the future:
Rotary Storyland & Playland continues to provide
affordable entertainment to families and children
across the valley. We desire to ensure that this
invaluable part of Fresno’s history continues to
fulfill its mission for the next 50 years. We are
excited about the future of these Fresno treasures
but know that we need to reconnect the central
valley to our mission and vision. With expenses
continuing to rise in all areas taking the
opportunity to reconnect is more important now than
ever.
Reconnect
It may be that it has been several years since you
have been to Rotary Storyland & Playland but that
you recall some wonderful memories as a child or
with your own children at these magical places.
While moving north continues to be the trend in the
Fresno/Clovis community, Rotary Storyland & Playland
is committed to continuing to provide an experience
unattainable anywhere else in the central valley at
Roeding Park in southwest Fresno. We desire to
reconnect with the Central Valley to celebrate the
past and ensure a healthy future for Storyland &
Playland. We ultimately see this happening in three
key ways.
Partnership
We are looking to reconnect the Central Valley
to our mission. We continue to provide affordable
entertainment to families and children. Many
families in the central valley are unable to take
their family to major theme parks but Storyland &
Playland offers a very affordable alternative. New
partners are needed to help us uphold and support
this important mission.
Time
Further we are seeking to reconnect our community to
Storyland & Playland by the giving of their time. We
continue to need volunteers to help maintain these
two treasures and to help keep up their beauty. We
recognize that time is a very important commodity to
everyone but it will take the dedication of hundreds
to keep Storyland & Playland beautiful for
generations to come.
Resources
For Rotary Storyland & Playland to continue to
fulfill its mission it will require a significant
commitment of resources from our partners around the
valley. There seems to be a misconception that
“Measure Z” money is to be shared with Storyland &
Playland; this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Storyland & Playland currently doesn’t receive any
funding from “Measure Z” or the City of Fresno.
Whether it be cash donations or gifts “in kind,”
donated resources will be required for the mission
of Storyland & Playland to advance in years to come.
While most of us can recall a ride on the train at
Playland, or hearing the fairytale story’s at
Storyland while we were children, new generations of
children are being captured today by these same
experiences. Storyland & Playland continues to give
children and families an escape into fantasy and
fun. Where do you fit in giving back so new
generations can continue to experience Storyland &
Playland? How can you reconnect to the mission of
Storyland & Playland so that they do not become
extinct? We urge you to partner with us and to share
your time and resources to continue these important
valley institutions. Please consider donating to
Storyland & Playland today.
